Re nickel process on old goods (2nd hand products)
We are dealing with trading buckles ( made by zinc die cast ). We have lot of stock lot due to nickel become old and some scratches on the goods . Now we like to remove the nickel and recolor it. Please let us know how to remove the nickel plating and lacquer?
Thanking you.

I would take the lacquer off by soaking them in say a hot alkaline solution(say about 180 degrees F) for a few minutes, that should remove the lacquer. Is it just a Ni base, there is nothing over the Ni? Couldn't you just re-activate the nickel, then plate over the Ni that is on there now?
Best Regards
