How to apply for setting up a metal surface processing company in Canada

My name is Sundy Wu. I am an engineer. I have a company dealing with metal surface processing (chemical pretreatment, metal cleaning, metal oxidation, electroless plating, rust prevention) in China. I got a Canada immigration this year. I have an idea to move the company to Canada.
Could you tell me is it possible? How to apply (to the government)for setting up the chemical company in Canada? Thank you.

Congratulations on your move to Canada! While I am not an expert on starting a business in Canada, I do believe that you will find it much easier to do in Canada. You will need to become familiar with Canadian Environmental laws, and be sure that your processes meet their requirements. From my own experiences in South China (Guandong, Shunde), the laws are very lax there. I would advise you to be sure you are in compliance. Most of the regulations are on the internet. You will also find Canadian regulatory employees to be very helpful in assisting you.

How extensive is your operation going to be? If your company is to succeed, you will need to locate near potential customers, and have a good understanding of who your competition will be.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
