Advanced methods in hot blackening




We are currently facing problems with Blackening like color variations (Brownish Color) and Rust formed during applications (As our products are QC products,Rust formed at low temperatures).We want to know any advanced methods of blackening process available to get better serviceability for low temperature applications.

It's not clear whether you are doing this process yourself or just specifying it, but in either case jumping to a new process in lieu of applying QA to the existing process may not be the right approach. Certainly you can go to black chrome or another black plated finish, or you can switch to salt bath nitriding, or apply a dark PVD coating. But it's also possible that, properly maintained, a simple black oxide finish will meet your needs.
