What lacquering process would you recommend on brass plated items?

We do a lot of brass plating for almost a year now, our problem is on lacquering. We observed some black spots on the surface of the plated parts after lacquering. In some cases, we observed some discoloration on the surface after applying lacquer. What can recommend us to improve our lacquering process?

Happy Holidays.......... Thank you

The spotting you see is probably a combination of oil and chemicals coming out of the pores of the base metal. There are ways to minimize this problem.

Zenaida, black spots or no, it's very difficult for anyone to tell you how to improve what you are doing if you don't tell them what you are doing. But "cyanide spot-out" is an age-old problem for platers. If you are doing cyanide brass plating, and especially if you are plating diecastings or anything even slightly porous, you can expect this problem. Alternate rinsing cold and very hot may help. Hazing discoloration is sometimes related to lacquering damp parts. Good luck.
