I hate chrome; how to get rid of it?

2005

Hello,

I am buying a used truck that is in a good price/condition. I hate the Chrome finish in any part of cars. What a ugly thing is the chrome for finishing purposes!

In my case, this is a Dodge truck, it has chrome on steel and plastic parts.....How can I deal with this? Any contribution, will be appreciated!

Thanks

Chrome looks hard, durable, corrosion resistant, and overall like a premium finish precisely because that's exactly what it is. So, although it's certainly a matter of taste, your problem will be that whatever you replace it with, it will not offer the same durability; so what will you replace it with that will have enough durability to satisfy you?

Any plating shop can chemically remove the chrome and the other underlying metallic coatings, or you can simply sand blast it off.
