Sound dampening coating
I have a wire form made of .1205" dia 1070 steel it is currently being nylon plated to reduce sound dampening. The wire is a glove box striker which prevents the glove box from opening. I need help finding a coating which we prevent any noise from occurring when you close the glove box door. The nylon works good but the customer what more dampening.

A great product to use as a dampener would be a Polyurea. Polyureas are a fast cure (tacks in 45 seconds ) high build membrane that is 100% VOC-free part can be installed in miniutes. Web site available to public Polyurea.com.

Consider contacting an electrical wire manufacturer who produces coated wire. That type coating might work well in providing dampening, and I would suspect someone will produce the exact type wire you need.
