Copper nickel electroplating onto aluminum
Is is possible to electroplate 70:30 Cu-Ni onto aluminum?

Ron,
I say yes it's depends of the pretreatment and the stress in nickel.

Hi. Anders knows a lot of things that I don't know, but I still have to doubt that such an alloy can be plated practically.
But for experimental work there is an article by Vu Quang K; Chassaing E; Le Viet B; Celis J P; in Metal Finishing of Oct. 1985 (vol. 83) entitled "Electrodeposition of Copper Nickel Alloys" concerning plating copper-nickel alloys from a citrate bath; and David Lashmore has apparently done some work on it by using pulse plating, as have Tench D M and White J T.
A search utilizing the Metal Finishing Information Service CD-ROM will be productive.
If you can post your actual situation rather than an abstract proposition, we can probably answer more definitively. Good luck.
