Physics related project in electroless coating

Q. Sir
I am a physics and materials science background person, I want to do research work on electroless coatings, or pulse plating. So please suggest me a good work which should be helpful for my Phd also.

with regards,

A. Hi Shweta,
In electroless coatings , Electroless Nickel deposits are widely used for engineering applications then comes electroless copper mostly for circuit boards.

Recently European Union is trying to eliminate hazardous substances (RoHS) from Electroless Nickel Coatings.

Main additives of electroless nickel are Lead and cadmium as stabilizer and brightener

New technologies are coming up with alternatives such as bismuth etc.,
Some even are trying to work with non metallic additives.

I hope it helps.

A. That will be greatly dependent on the background and desires of your major professor.
For EN, you will go thru dozens or hundreds of variables and have a disposal problem.
Pulse, costs a lot more for the startup, but the big unknown is the best "window" for a given plating solution and would probably be easier and cheaper to publish your dissertation.
