Replating gold looking plating on Honda Goldwing plastic parts

Q. How do I re-plate my Honda Goldwing plastic insignias and name plates. Is it paint or a type of plating?

A. Paint for model kits should do the trick for a quick touchup, you can get more expensive automotive paints that will also work, but model paint is much cheaper and easier to get.

A. I bet it's cheaper and easier to just replace them.

Q. Hello Paul LeMay of Mountain View,California.
Re:your answer to my question about re:plating my Honda Gold Wing plastic panels done in a gold type plating. You said it probably would be cheaper to replace them. Yes I agree. If you know of some plates like the ones (two) one on each side that are mint just below the passengers legs and one on top of the Faux tank. Please let me know 1983 Honda Goldwing Interstate. Have a good upcoming holiday season and happy new year.

A. Try contacting the manufacturer of the motorcycle, I'm sure you can get replacements from them.

A. Try www.goldwinginfo.com for the part number. Then call MR Cycles 800-359-0567, and tell them what you want. I got plates for my 77 "gastank", about 2 years ago.
