Alocrom 1200 and RoHS compliance
2005
Can anyone help.
We currently have two metalwork suppliers, supplying product with an Alocrom 1200 finish.
One has sent through a statment saying that their Alocrom 1200 product complies with the RoHS directive, the other says theirs does not.
Can this be correct? I do not have enough knowledge on the processes to know.

Alocrom is definitely not RoHS compliant, it is a hexavalent chromate conversion coating.
If you have any doubts talk to Henkel Surface Technologies (the manufacturer), but they should only confirm this.

I would suggest that you go to the following site for additional information.

Most commercially used finishing processes are manufactured and sold to the applicator. Going to the manufacturer for information, as stated above, is the best way to determine compliance.
