Low-friction, flexible material
I am looking for a highly abrasion-resistant, flexible (similar to hard rubber), low COF compound for a particular application. If applied as a coating, the compound should be coatable to 20 mils or more. Does anyone know of a commercially available compound (or readily obtainable recipe) which meets these criteria?

Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene may do the trick for you. It is available in tape form and thicker material is glueable with the proper preparation and glue.
It is nearly as slippery as teflon and is not as prone to cold creep.

Hi Steve,
Go and have a gander at POLYURETHANE ... this comes in different forms but also is a mouldable material. You can buy a cheap paint (which will hardly have any PU in it) to a 2-component paint. Expensive, too. Superb finish. Contact then the manufacturers, the horse's mouth, so to speak.
It's elasticity is enormous. It's abrasion resistance is excellent.
We never used it because we were in the corrosion resistant plastics and PU doesn't match up to PVC etc. etc.
