150 m Ni-P Electroless Plating

2005

I want to do 150°Êm Ni-P Electroless Plating on Fe base alloy or Stainless steel. But within 2 or 3 hrs, A lot of porosity are developing on the surface and if I continue more time then A rough surface is developing.
how can I fix it.
My plating Process:
1. Dip-Cleaning
2. Electro-Cleaning
3. Pickling(Hcl)
4. Ni-Strike
5. Ni-P electroless plating

Is it possible to give me any advice to solve this problem?

Porosity and roughness can come from following reasons.
1-Previous existing porosity not visible before plating(eliminate before plating)
2-Surface contamination (improve cleaning cycle)
3-After a proper cleaning cycle next baths may contain contaminants (filter and treat dirty bath)
4-Bubbles form Hydrogen evolution adhere to part surface (restore level of surfactant or change to more stable bath, improve agitation, verify pH, slow the reaction down)
5-Particles or foreign matter suspended in your EN bath. (Improve filtering)
6-Attack to base material from improperly operated strike (review and adjust procedure or change strike)
Hope this helps,
