Painting an aluminum telescoping assembly

2005

I am developing a aluminum product which has a inner spring as is best described as a toilet paper tube with a wide outer tube and a telescopic inner tube that slides forwards and back on the spring.
My question is what is the best technique to paint this to ensure paint adhesion?

Thanks for your time,

Phil

Dear Philip!
You can use any proprietary conversion coating. You can make Your own solution ,too:
Old US Army phosphating process for aluminum-
18 l butyl alcohol
14 l isopropyl alcohol
4,5 l phosphoric acid(85%)
9 l water
immersion 2-3 min.,then rinse well
