Clear coat for gold plate?

There was a product (Vestar?) licensed by Dow-Corning for clear-coating non-ferrous metals like brass, aluminum, etc. Can anyone lead me toward that or a like product? I worked well on polished surfaces like doorknobs and auto wheels.

I'm not clear what your needs are, but our supporting advertiser Everbrite [a finishing.com supporting advertiser] offers a simple brush-on clear coat product, which sounds closest; G.J. Nikolas [a finishing.com supporting advertiser] offers a broad range of lacquers and Tiger Drylac offers clearcoat powder coatings. Is there a preferred application method for your needs?
