Improving SS performance against dish detergents

I am looking for an econmical treatment for SS (18/8) that will reduce the corrosion caused by exposure to hand dishwashing liquids. Is there perhaps a better grade to use for contact with hand dishwashing liquids?

There are a number of 18/8 grades of stainless steel. Do you know explicity which one you have?
There are always better grades that you can use, depending on how much you want to spend and what properties you want in the alloy. 321 is probably better than what you are using. There are grades that are better than that.
All grades can be improved by passivation with a good solution. In your case it might be good to do it periodically with a safe solution that will improve the corrosion resistance.
