Suitablity of ss316 for seawater




We want to know the suitability of ss316 for sea water or the chemical composation required.

Temperature of the water? 316 is usually OK at ambient temperatures, but for anything above about 30 degrees C it would pay to use a duplex stainless - 2205 would be fine.

ss316 shall be OK but the best it would be to use Alloy 400 (nickel alloy) - best solution for see water.

I'm planning to use Stainless steel 316 l for sea water. I have some doubt reg this how long this SS 316 l with stand against high sea water TDS?
or is it good to use duplex insted of SS316 L.
