A. Hi, Dr. Sheikh. I have to start by saying that, although aluminum is sometimes phosphatized as part of a mixed metal process, I am not aware of any phosphatizing processes being designed specifically for the exclusive phosphatizing of aluminum, let alone low temperature ones :-)
If you aren't processing a mix of aluminum and steel, maybe you could consider chromate conversion coating the aluminum since this is both a low temperature process, and considered far superior to phosphating? Good luck.

A. Try to find last edition of Wernick/Pinner's book on finishing of aluminum and its alloys (very expensive book ,old editions are good, too). Good luck!
