Platinum wire insulation coating
We're looking to do transient hot wire testing for determining the conductivity of fluid. We have platinum wire to use as the heater/resistor, and now we would like to coat the wire with and insulating material so that electrical conductivity of the wire to the fluid is reduced. What methods do you suggest we use to insulate this micrometer thin wire?

I am at a loss to understand the size/shape of your wire. Is it possible to use an appropriate size of heat shrink fit teflon tubing? It is available from many sources.
How hot does this wire get? A vinyl masking compound like you can dip tool handles in or a proper plating masking "paint" might work.

Any electrically insulating material will inevitably also be thermally insulating. Make sure that characteristic doesn't interfere with the test.
