Protective coating for zinc plated steel?
I have had a product manufactured from steel plated in zinc, but it tarnishes very easily, is there some kind of lacquer or other protective coating I can put on it to stop this?

Are you sure it was chromated after the zinc plating? Chromating is virtually universal but, hey, you never know. Yes, waxes or water soluble lacquers or silicate top coats are often applied if the chromate isn't enough.
