Corrosion resistant plating for aluminum to protect against engine exhaust gases
I'm looking for a plating that can protect Aluminum against Exhaust Gases for both Diesel and Gas Engines. The operating Temputures could see up to 2,000 F degrees. Is it possible to coat Aluminum and still maintain good Thermal conductivity? Is there a plating on the market that can give me corrosive protection and thermal transfer under these conditions?

First of two simultaneous responses --
Gold plate, fairly heavy (thick). The aluminum will have the strength of cold jello after going to 2000F. Pure aluminum, not an alloy, melts at 1200F. I think that you have a problem.

Second of two simultaneous responses --
Look up the melting point of aluminum and then come back to us.

You could get anodized aluminum instead of just aluminum.

Sorry Chris, but anodize is an insulator, not a conductor as was asked for. Besides, the thermal coefficient of expansion for aluminum is so much different than the anodize that it would chip off after one excursion to 2000F. Not to mention that it would be a molten slug rather than a tube.
