Cleaning Fine Internal Threads

2005

We are having internal threads M3 X 10 mm long (through holes on 10 mm dia rod)

While tapping, our service provider use Mustard Oil as cutting fluid. The small chips block the threads after setting into rigid paste of chips + mustard oil.

What is the most economical and fast way to clean the same.
(a) Is ultrasonic cleaning the only solution.
(b) Any strong solvent for mustard oil.

Thanks

Ultrasonics is the clearly superior long term solution. Solvents will probably give some relief, but it will require some form of agitation and a vapor capture device if it is a chlorinated solvent.
