How to prevent hydrogen embrittlement during chroming per FAA Mil-Specs?
I would like to know how to prevent hydrogen embrittlement during the chroming process of aircraft gear legs (Bellanca 14 series). It needs to be FAA Mil-Specs. I just don't seem to find the process spelled out.
I know the chrome needs to be baked shortly following the chroming. I have heard several temperatures used.
If you wouldn't mind spelling out this process for me, I would appreciate your time and trouble. If you know who does this, I would appreciate that as well...

It doesn't matter if someone gives you all the details. Even if you get a copy of the applicable spec and find a shop willing to follow it is not enough. You need to go to an FAA certified chrome plating shop.
