Nickel Plated Anodes For Electro Cleaner

I recently read on one of cleaner tech-data sheets, they recommend to nickel plate the steel anodes that are in the electro cleaner. We have just straight steel anodes in all of our electro cleaners is there any benifit to nickel plateing the anodes? The solution is 180 degrees and is made up at 10%.

I am not an expert, but I can not see any value below the liquid level, but it would help hold down the rust in the area above the liquid level.

Personally, I like to suggest that the anode bars be nickel plated on all tanks to avoid copper contamination of the plating solution from salt formation falling into the tank. Other than this, the prime reason I can think of for nickel plating the steel would be as mentioned above.
