Paint defect on ABS
When we apply primer coat on ABS material the thinner reacts with the material and one particular portion forms as a stain. It is clearly visible after clear coat of metallic paint.
Kindly give me a painting procedure for ABS material and remedy for defects

Hi Venkatesh
I am not a 'painter' nor a plater but perhaps, maybe there is a reason why you are getting a stain on one particular part.
a. Was the ABS primer in any way 'old' (although I really can't see WHY this would be a problem.)
b. Was that primer applied evenly?
c. The proper primer is
MEK / methyl ethyl ketone, I believe. Is your primer 'different' perhaps?
d. Did you allow for a proper drying time (not applicable too much to primers but certainly to ABS cement)
e. Was there any build-up on the solvent which could be reflected in the finished part?
Just some food for thought ... but I would have hoped that some plater would have replied to your question before.
