Easy way to check plating quality

I run a company which manufactures ladies handbags. We buy nickel plated metal fittings from local suppliers, sometimes in very small quantities. Is there an easy way for me to guesstimate the durability of the plating as it is often not worthwhile for me to send it to a lab.

Mr.Ramchandani
There is no easy way out.
If you want quality please check it with a lab and insist your vendor to supply as per your terms.and as you know quality comes at a price!
