Oxidation on Zinc alloys
2005
I have a problem of oxidation of zinc die cast components. Before plating we have to do buffing as the components have white layer of oxidation.
can any body please suggest me:
1. Chemical treatment for removal of oxidised layer.
2. any coating to avoid oxidation.

I'm not sure if I understood the question properly, Atul, but buffing (or at least some degree of mechanical polishing or vibratory finishing) is required for plating of zinc die castings. I don't think there is a chemical dip that will alleviate the requirement.
