Silver with cadmium oxide coating in Petrol
We are manufacturer of Auto components. In one of our product , a contact terminal ( Material - Silver with Cadmium oxide) is used for electrical conductivity , which is in contact with Petrol / Diesel.Due to the sulfur content in petrol , after some time it gets reacted and forms black powder on the surface. This affects electrical conductivity and hence the function of the product.
Whether any other coating / material can solve this problem?

Dear Ganesh Kumar,
Silver is highly suseptible for tarnishing. The black colour could due to the formation of silver sulfide, which will affet the electrical conductivity.
If the environment will not experience high temperature of more than
85 deg.C, tin plated copper is the most economical and viable alternative.
If the electrical conductivity is very critical, then noble metal coated copper alloys is the choice.
