RoHS compliant coating on Aluminum
I am facing a problem that I need a coating which is RoHS compliant and electrical contactive for Aluminum. Previously, I use clear chromate, but it is not RoHS compliant.
Please let me have idea on this.

Hi, Louis
As I know some of treaters turn to silane or silane modified solution on Aluminum!

What do you need the coating to be, other than conductive? Chrome plating would work.

Yes, silane based treatments like OXSILAN is the best solution in this way for aluminum as well as for magnesium. Silane coatings are clear, have bare corrosion resistance and good electrical conductivity. If you need to paint or to make powder coating, silane based treatments offer excellent adhesion.
Wide range of silane based treatments is available from Chemetall and its subsidiaries.

Hi Louis,
Typical chemical conversion coatings for aluminum contain Hexavalent Chromium. That's why they do not comply RoHS.
Chemical conversion coating with Trivalent Chromium has been developed for replacing the use of Hexavalent Chromium. Conductivity is similar. Moreover, it is RoHS compliance.
