PTFE Coating for Dissimilar metal in Gulf offshore

We are working offshore in Qatar and experienced heavy corrosion to cadmium coated stud bolts that bolt onto Incoloy 825 fittings, what are the disadvantages of PTFE if any in marine environment.

You did not made it clear, but I assume you refer to PTFE as a coating, not a solid material. PTFE is totally immune to salt water attack. Whether it is totally free of porosity or cracks as applied, and remains that way indefinitely (which is not always the case), will determine if it is a suitable protection to a metal. Any pore or crack will accelerate the corrosion underneath.
