Want to do Black Nickel Plating

From the electroplating department of our furniture company I am looking for information about black nickel plating. We are exploring the possibility of adding the process to our existing plating line. I'd like to know who supplies the chemicals and can help us to set up the process. Also, if anyone who has experience with the process is willing to share information, it'd be a big help. Is the process suitable for steel furniture? Display fixtures?

Hi, Lee. The major plating process suppliers will all have this process. It is usually, although perhaps not always, done by plating a substantial layer of regular bright nickel first, and following with a thin layer of black nickel.

I believe you will find it suitable for metal furniture, although you might want to also consider black chrome plating. Good luck.
