Yellow gold diamond engagement ring is white in three weeks

Hi, I purchased a 14k gold diamond engagement ring in New York and when I was trying it on it was only in white gold but they told me I could get in yellow gold also. So I opted for the yellow gold. However I have had it just 3 weeks and it looks like they just dipped it in yellow gold as it starting to wear off at the bottom of the ring to reveal the white gold. Is there any way I can have this changed more permanently to yellow gold or would I have to get the ring reset in a yellow gold band?

You must have told the jeweler you were just visiting from Ireland because I am beyond shocked that a jeweler would sell anyone a gold plated white gold ring. It's totally unsatisfactory and must be reset, and if I were you I would have the diamond as well as the gold appraised.
