Contamination and Foreign Material on Copper
Q. We are a leadframe company. The process is basically plating silver and then etching the copper base.We feed blank copper coils which goes thru a process electroclean to remove oils and soils. Down the process we do acid clean and final to protect the bare coper. We have a major reject due to Copper contamination and Foreign material on the finished product.
Is there any cleaning/surface etch product that can remove contamination and foreign material on copper?

A. With regards on contamination in the Leadframe surfaces, kindly add-on a squeeze roller before drying and after Copper protection process. This will remove excess water in the L/F surface so that water marks and other Foreign materials in the surface will be catch-up or removed by this roller before drying it (Leadframe) ... hope this could help.
