Aluminum 5052 & Type of Fasteners
2005
I have a product that consists of three components. They are each Alum. 5052, and I have had each of them powder coated separately. When I assemble the tree together, should I use a stainless steel 18-8, or silicon bronze screw to secure them together. This product will be outdoors, but in "middle America" ( not in a coastal area)
Please help.
Thank you

Why don't you use aluminum screws?
Then you wouldn't have any galvanic issues to worry about, and galling probably won't be a problem if the screws are anodized. Also, if you aren't planning on removing the screws, galling isn't an issue anyway.

All aluminum screws I have ever tried shear off quite easily, even when a pilot hole is drilled. I need something far stronger.
Thank you
