POWDER PAINTING WOOD

Powder Coating of Wood! I am an MSc student trying to graduate. However my dissertation topic "powder coating of wood" is a very new technology and I cannot seem to find any information about it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Being into wood manufacturing also, I came across an article in the latest issue of "Woodworking", called "New coatings poised to enter wood market". It is from the June 1999 issue, Volume 13, Number 4, Page 30. You can contact the publisher at wood@actioncom.com.

I trust this helps.

At my research institute we have been working with this issue for several years. For pure wood it is very hard to get an acceptable surface but for MDF boards we have obtained promising results. On the Rad-tech conference in Berlin 8-10 Nov. there will be a presentation on UV curable powder paints for MDF. I think the UV technique is the future, because of lower curing temperature.

Sir:

We use powder painting for metallics material but for wood no. Can you support us to introduce this technology in Tunisia it can be important ?
