Cleaning and restoring a brass ship's bell




Q. Which would be the best procedure-an alkaline soak or an acid treatment for restoring a not too large old ship's bell?

A. You can use 5% ammonium citrate solution(mix 50 gm citric acid this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] and 1 lit water,add some ammonia,pH must be 9).
