Glass bead blasting
I currently use a glass bead blaster ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] to clean hardened D2 steel. I have been told that I am removing the base material every time I do this or that I am moving the base material around. I find this hard to believe. Anyone out there have any insight?

It would not clean if it did not remove some metal. This can vary from not measurable on a 1 time cleaning to excessive removal with a great many cleanings.
