Nickel or Chrome

Good Morning,We have a Nickel-Chrome process. Is the Nickel or the Chrome the one that makes the corrosion protection? Thanks

In the famous words of Forrest Gump, "Maybe it's both", Ramses. Properly done, chrome plating improves the corrosion resistance of nickel plated objects.

Just for your intellectual curiosity, you could experiment and find the answer yourself by plating an object in the same fashion you normally do but only with nickel, then another object with only chrome keeping everything else equal. Let both objects stand outdoors for a time and see what happens.
