Rusting of iron nail
Hi,I am a student in HK , we had done a experiment on factors affecting the rate of rusting on iron nails , we had used a gel containing rust indicator (potassium hexacyanoferrite) which will turn to blue when combined with Fe2+ and added it into test tube where a iron nail is put inside . The gel ws added sea water in the first tube , the second one was added acidic solution . The thrid test tube was kept in hot water bath . The nail in the forth tube was bent . The nail in the fifth tube was attached to magnesium ribbon . The sixth one is control .Now I hope that you and your partner could give me (1) The expected results on each tube , (2) equation involved in each tube (simple is ok). I am looking foward receiving your answer , since I can't find the answer on web or in books.Thank you

Tell us what results you got for the 5 samples, Eric, and I'll be happy to comment on them. But I won't cheat you by telling you what to expect, thereby forcing you to repeat the experiment dozens of times until you get the results I claim.
