Gold wash for metal wanted

I want a gold wash that works over nickel or chrome plated toys.

Hi, Doug. I don't know what kind of technology you are envisioning by "gold wash", but you cannot use "immersion plating" (a dip or wipe-on gold solution) on nickel or chrome. That would work only on copper, brass, and silver components. Maybe you could try a wax rub like Rub n Buff this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . Good luck.

I was wondering if you ever succeeded in finding a source for a gold wash that could be applied to metal. I too seek a gold wash that is suitable for over-coating brass surfaces. Kindly let em know if you discovered a source for the product, & who/what that source is.

There is a gold wash called Medallion Gold; it's the only consumer available one I've ever heard of. I called them today and was told it was out of stock and would be for several months. It is sometimes available on eBay .

Good luck with it.
