Alodine and anodizing on aluminum reflectivity data needed
2005
I am looking for reflectivity data for the following metals and metal finishes:
1. Plain Stainless steel (the type used for screws and lock washers)
2. Aluminum treated with Alodine 1201
⇦ this on
eBay
or
Amazon [affil links]
3. Aluminum treated with black anodizing
4. Aluminum treated with hard anodizing
Any data would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you,

Dear Carol Gordon
Total reflectivity (%)
Stainless steel: 60
99.99 % Al: 90
Black anodized: 11 (some say 0)
You can expect something similar with hard anodic layers on aluminium alloys with Si and Cu.
I have not the value of Alodine treated aluminium but it must be less that 99.99 % Al but higher than that for black anodized.
Gray value controls reflection, black=no reflection, white=mirror

Hope this is for any use.
