Restoration of patina to bronze

Q. I read the letters regarding silver patina restoration. Do you have a product that will restore the reddish/brown patina to bronze. I have several items I bought; however, the previous owners polished every bit of patina off leaving them brassy looking. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Very Sincerely,

A. 1. Go to your local home improvement/hardware store.

2. Buy a bag of ammonia this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] -rich fertiliser and a big bucket.

3. Mix the fertiliser and water in the bucket.

4. Bury the piece you want to get oxidized in the mixture.

5. Check on it tomorrow.

6. Repeat steps 4 through 6 as needed.

A. You can try 5 gm copper sulphate/50 gm potassium permanganate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] /1 lit water solution, temp. 90 °C.

Good luck!
