My father and I are intending on diversifying our efforts into possibly galvanizing, of which this would subsequently compliment our existing business of steel fabrication. We don't really have a phenomenal understanding of the set-up of the industry, but are preparing ourselves for costly investment. We sincerely believe it will be a worthwhile investment, however, seeking advice on where to buy or how to make the zinc baths, wash baths pre-flux baths etc is evading us. We don't know any suppliers of such components and are wondering if there are any? Finding out the running costs of these baths is essential in cash flow forecasts and the running costs of the business.
Any help or advice would be most appreciated, and grateful for.

Hello Adam,
Have you considered contacting one or more of the major chemical suppliers. These companies invariably have relationships with plant/equip. manufacturers and they in turn could assist in estimating with you, the cost of running your plant.
I'm a little out of touch over there but look for the Diversey organisation (they had an office in Northhampton ) Also, the company Henkel or Chemetall. They were very involved with chemical processes in your proposed new venture and I'm sure they would assist or at the very least, point you in the right direction.

Sirs:
My 25 scientific, practical articles on Hot Dip Galvanizing are in the monthly magazine Metal Finishing and at least one of these can be taken off their web site. These articles include, pickling, fluxing, plant design, rinsing, and just now I am completing one on kettle furnaces. If you read these articles you will have a better understanding of what you are undertaking.
