Annealing condition of CP TI?
I need to deeply draw CP titanium. After try it several times, I realized I cannot get what I need and learned the Ti foil (4 mil thick, as received) was only mill annealed.
Could somebody tell me what is the temperature and time for CP Ti mill annealing, and what kind further annealing (temperature and time) I need to get CP Ti's best fracture resistance at room temperature.
Thanks

Mill annealing temperatures will vary depending on the manufacturers exact process. Recrystallization will start to occur above ~ 650 °C (1200 F) but most annealing is performed above 705 C (1300 F). SAE AMS2801B requires annealing of CP Ti to be performed for 2 ± 0.25 hours at 1300 F (704 C). The highest recommended annealing temperature for CP Ti is 760 °C (1400 F) and times up to 8 hours.
