Cleaning dirty gold taps
I've recently moved into a property which has gold taps in it. There is nothing wrong with the taps there just dirty (tarnished) how can I clean them up? have you got any recommendations what I could use.
Many thanks,

A normal metal polish will work fine, look for one that does not use heavy abrasives. I suggest Nevr-Dull ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , just be sure to clean it off afterward with a dry cloth.

If your taps are brass or bronze You can use 5% citric acid ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] solution (or 50 gm citric acid /1 lit water/+ some ammonia ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , pH must be 9)! vinegar ⇦in bulk on eBay or Amazon [affil links] mixed with some salt can help you too. Rinse well! Good luck!

Do not use vinegar to clean gold plated taps! I used this and it tarnished them so badly they will have to be replaced.
