How to remove burned on milk from aluminum
I was cooking food in milk in a double boiler. I forgot about it for a while. It boiled over onto the lower kettle. How can I remove the carbon that burned on the kettle? It is aluminum cookware.

Amonia or vinager will take some of it off I think, I have to say that this is one I haven't bumped into. I do know that you can use a number of solvents to get the carbon off of the metal, if you can't get it off with some of the milder solvents I suggest a dillute solution of muratic acid (1 part acid to 10 parts water), you can get it at most hardware stores and larger chain stores. Be VERY careful and follow all of the MSDS labels on the bottles.
