Cleaning process for Nitinol prior to gold plating

I am putting together a cleaning process for nitinol prior to gold plating. Can anyone help me with the specifics? What are the critical points to this process?

That's going to be a tough one. I think you'll need a HF pickle, but am not sure. Let us know if you find an answer which works.
