Does AMS2486 add any thickness to the titanium substrate it is applied to?

Hey now I've had this question from Lockheed Orlando twice this week ( are you connected with Jay Meredith? ). The simple answer is you can't measure it! I know that many of the titanium parts your firm purchases and assembles have tolerances that are fractions of a mil (i.e. ± 0.0001 inch) which from experience in processing some of these, the processor can remove more material in cleaning and activation than the fluoride / phosphate coating puts down.
