How to find out the explosive limits of solvents?
I am interested to know how to find out the explosive limits for solvents. Although there is no information available about apparatus used for such studies. I want to know what are the various equipment and techniques used to find out the explosive/flammable limits of solvents.

Closed Cup and Open Cup Methods as given in a typical MSDS. Just googled a search and got lucky! http://www.ilpi.com/msds/ref/flashpoint.html
Hope this helps.

Look them up in a book or on their MSDS. Not as much fun as setting light to mixed vapours, but much safer.
