Safe removal of clear coat from brass

I am an contractor working on brass stanchions which are used to section off areas of high traffic. the total number of stanchions is 200. The Stanchions have an clear coat on them I need to remove the clear coat without damaging the brass so that the brass can be polished and clear coat reapplied I do not know what method to go with please help.

Thanks

You can use any solvent based paint stripper!

Good luck!

You need to know what the clearcoat is. There are several possibilities, and each requires a different solvent. The solvents of choice are all flammable and some are mildly toxic. This is not a job to give an untrained worker a bucket of solvent and a rag.

Have you considered using dry ice blast cleaning. Clear coat can be removed without damaging the surface of the brass and you will have no clean up.
