Are 316L fans Spark proof?
2004
Are stainless steel AISI316L a spark proof material.
If so, how can we prove it.
Best regards

Hi Jon,
Re your query, well, sorry, but I am clueless.
But if you are afraid of sparking, then you must GROUND things.
We had a scenario back in Ye Olden Days in Montreal. Proctor and Gamble. PVC ducting. Dry dust .... and this worked very well but one day one of the P & G directors touched the ducting ... and they wheeled him away in a wheelbarrow.
Thereafter we wound conductive tape around the ducting every 20 feet or so ... nary a problem...
If (and you didn't mention this) IF your airstream contains particles that could explode, then for heaven's sake spray on water. This will effectively ground everything ... then take out the 'water' using a blade type mist eliminator which is available in PVC, PP and stainless.
